Three-candle reversals
The Family
- Morning Star — long decline, small gapped body, long recovery past the midpoint — bullish once confirmed.
- Evening Star — the same grammar at a high — bearish once confirmed.
- Doji Star — the middle candle is a true doji — a louder version of either.
- Abandoned Baby — the rare form where the middle candle's range gaps clear on both sides.
How to Read It
- ANATOMY — long body · gap · small body · gap · long body closing ≥50% back into candle one.
- ADDRESS — only after a real leg, at a level with memory.
- ANSWER — the third candle's close IS the confirmation; no fourth candle required.
- STOP — below the whole formation's low: the price where the story dies.
The One Rule
The third candle is the verdict. No gap, no small middle body, or under 50% penetration — no star.
